Stolen Vehicle Leads to a Pursuit

An Auburn Hills police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Baldwin near Collier Rd. at approximately 8:33am today's date. The driver of the vehicle accelerated the vehicle and fled from the officer. A check of the license plate showed that the vehicle, a 2001 Jaguar, had been reported stolen in Pontiac on 12/6/05.
The driver of the stolen vehicle led police into a residential area on the west side of Baldwin and north of Walton. The driver and the passenger jumped from the stolen vehicle while it was still moving. The vehicle rolled into a snow bank and stopped. The driver was apprehended by Auburn Hills officers after a foot chase. The passenger was apprehended a short time later by Pontiac Police officers.
The driver is a 21 year old male from Pontiac. He is being held pending charges for possession of stolen property, fleeing and eluding, and possession of marijuana. The passenger is also a 21 year old male from Pontiac. He is being held for possession of stolen property.
There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the pursuit.
