National Night Out 2006

Traffic For N.C.A.A. Final at the Palace of Auburn Hills

March 15, 2006 8:30 a.m.

The Auburn Hills Police Department is advising motorists to avoid Lapeer Road / M-24 between Walton Blvd and Brown Road on Friday, March 17, 2006 during the hours of 4:30 to 6:30 PM. The Men's NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament will have two games between the hours of 12:15 and 4:15 and the next game will begin at 7:10 PM.

At this time we cannot predict what level of additional traffic will be leaving and entering The Palace during this peak traffic time. This is a unique circumstance as most large events have traffic either entering or exiting, but there is a potential to have a conflict at the drives to the Palace. The Department will make every effort to balance the vehicle movements for all motorists.

Any additional or unexpected traffic problems will be communicated to the public by news release to the traffic news sources.
