Suspect in Stabbing Incident Arrested

On todays date Auburn Hills officers arrested Sarah Potter, 24 years old, of Lake Orion in connection with the stabbing incident that occurred on April 11, 2006. The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office has charged Potter with assault with intent to commit murder and assault with intent to create great bodily harm. Assault with intent to murder is a felony with the possibility of a life sentence. Assault with the intent to do great bodily harm is a 10 year felony.
Potter allegedly stabbed a 16 year old female from Lake Orion in the chest. The female suffered serious injuries, but she is expected to recover. The stabbing occurred near the outdoor basketball court on the grounds of Will Rogers Elementary. The school was closed and there was no school function at the time of the stabbing. The parties involved did not have any connection to the school. It is believed that this incident revolves around a male subject who is a mutual friend to the victim and the suspect.
