Auburn Hills Police officers responded to 4 calls for service during game 1 of the NBA Playoffs. There was one reported Assault & Battery. No arrest were made, the case remains under investigation. The Auburn Hills Department and Palace Security are working together to provide a safe and entertaining environment for the guests of the Palace of Auburn Hills during the 2007 NBA Playoffs.
The Palace does not allow tailgating or the selling of tickets in the parking lot. Selling tickets for more than the face value is scalping which is a misdemeanor offense covered by a local ordinance. Offering tickets for sale or selling other merchandise without a permit is peddling. Peddling without a permit is also a misdemeanor covered by a local ordinance.
Anyone found to be in possession of open alcohol or other illegal contraband will be ticketed. Any alcohol brought onto the parking lot will be confiscated whether it is open or not. Loitering in the parking lot will not be tolerated. Anyone found to be loitering in the parking lot will be asked to enter the venue or leave the property immediately. The Palace of Auburn Hills is a private establishment and disruptive patrons could be asked to leave at anytime. Anyone who refuses to comply could be arrested for trespassing.
The Auburn Hills Police Department will continue to enforce all local ordinances and state laws at all events at the Palace of Auburn Hills. We ask fans to report any person who is acting inappropriately and allow the playoffs to be another successful Championship Series for the Detroit Pistons.
